Africa Market Biological Mosquito Larvae Killing BTi Powder
Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Israelensis (Bti) is a naturally occurring bacterium used for mosquito-borne disease control. Its parasporal crystal is the main insecticidal substance that effectively kills mosquito larvae through a specific mode of action.
Product Description
After mosquito larvae ingest Bti, the parasporal crystal degrades and releases toxin molecules that bind to specific receptors in the intestinal membrane. This leads to death through poor feeding, paralysis, bowel perforation, hunger, and sepsis. Note that Bti doesn't provide extended control - re-treatment is needed for subsequent larval development.
This product is produced using biological fermentation technology and is currently the most widely used microbial insecticide for controlling mosquito larvae.

Working Mechanism
Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis (B.t.i) releases poisonous titanium through decompounding under alkaline conditions and protease enzymolysis in the larval midgut. This leads to larval paralysis and destroys the balance of potassium ions.
